Draw Near to the Throne

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. —Hebrews 4:16

Some of you have asked how you can specifically pray for us as we prepare and while we are on our trip, so I thought I'd share some requests that have come to mind here. For the next few days (we leave on Friday), you could pray that Brian's cold will go away and that I will stay healthy, that we will get everything done at work and home that we need to before we leave, and that packing and other prep will go smoothly. Also, praise the Lord, we have enough funding for the trip! He is so good in how He provides!

Travel Mercies
Pray ...

• that all our flights will be on time 
• that we will be in the right spots when we need to be
• for safe and reliable drivers
• that all our luggage would make it to each location with us 

Health & Safety

Pray ...

• that we will stay healthy and won't get sick from food or water
• for the safety of all our belongings
• for the safety of our passports and money
• that jetlag symptoms will be minor and won't affect our work 
• for safety while we are traveling alone at the end of the trip

Spiritual

Pray ...

• for God's protection over our hearts and minds
• that God will break our hearts for what breaks His
• that we will be filled with the Spirit and follow His promptings
• for boldness to share Jesus' name
• that we will see others how God sees them
• for team unity
• for special protection from temptations that could arise from interacting with sex trafficking
• for open doors and soft hearts

• that we will serve and love our hosts well
• for wisdom as we're discerning future partnerships and short-term trip possibilities
• that we will be culturally sensitive
