Coffee Date

//via

If we were having coffee, I would share my excitement over our upcoming trip. I can't believe that in less than 2 weeks we'll be Thailand! Let the packing commence!

If we were having coffee, I would let you know that I've kind of been getting into cooking lately since Loverboy gets home later now with his new job. Basically I get home and am bored and hungry, so what better thing to do than cook a tasty meal? Plus it's turning into a nice way to just relax and have some alone time after work.

If we were having coffee, I'd want to know what your favorite quick, easy recipes are. Because even though I've been getting into cooking more, I still thoroughly enjoy a recipe with just a few steps and/or ingredients.

If we were having coffee, I'd let you in on the little secret that you can borrow digital books from the library to read on your computer, tablet, or phone! This is a total game-changer for our trip, as instead of toting 5 books around Asia, I'll just have our tablet packed with books. Score!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you about how BASE is doing and that I'm encouraged by the interest and participation that we have. I would tell you about how this past weekend 10 of us sat around a table at a cafe and shared ideas on how we can best help fight trafficking and raise awareness and it was just pretty sweet.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you about the ways that you are experiencing God. I would ask how you are seeking Him and what you do when seeking Him feels hard.

Coffee Date

//via

If we were having coffee, I would probably get a Strawberry and Cream Frap, unless I was feeling chilly, in which case I'd need some time to reconsider.

If we were having coffee, I would let you know that I haven't been blogging as much because work has been way busy, plus when I think about the things that are swirling around in my head right now I'm just not really sure how to blog about them quite yet.

If we were having coffee, I'd want to know what books you've read that have really stirred your heart lately. [Because, see below]

If we were having coffee, I'd let you in on the little secret that the public library is thebomb dot com! I have been totes ravaging that place lately because it turns out they have every home design book I've ever wanted to look at and it's all FO FREE! Plus we have a library just a few blocks from us and if I'm a good wife then my husband will pick up books for me on his way home from work (thanks babe!).

If we were having coffee, I would share about how family vacation is only a few days away! And even though the forecast is a high of 50 and rainy up north I am oh so excited to get a few days to spend with my WHOLE family! It's a big deal, because the last time it happened I was getting married and quality relax time wasn't really on the top of my 100-item list those couple days before the wedding.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you about this past weekend when Loverboy and I totally scored on an awesome leather chair at a thrift sale and now we have the coziest little reading corner in our sunroom.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you about the ways that you are working to fight for your marriage (if you're married... because otherwise that would be a weird question, unless of course you are praying for or reading up on marriage as a single person, in which case, props, and let's totally talk about it!).

Coffee Date (Round III)

Happy Saturday and happy beginning of the Christmas season! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to enjoy time with family and friends. Loverboy and I got to stuff our faces not once, but twice this week [perks of being married, folks!] and got to spend time with both our families.

I don't know about you, but I just love Saturday morning coffee dates... so I thought I'd bring one right to the comfort of your own home. So grab a mug of coffee (or, ya' know... hot cocoa) and read on!

If we were having coffee, I would suggest meeting at Caribou and would get a Mint Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate. Yummm.

If we were having coffee, I would ask about your holiday traditions. What did you experience in your childhood? What traditions have you/are you planning to carry on into adulthood?

If we were having coffee, I'd share about my excitement over a weekend getaway that the hubs and I are taking in December. The planning nerd in me is having wayyyy too much fun!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you how much I hate the cold and the winter but how much I loooove having a snowy Christmas.

If we were having coffee, I'd let you know that Christmas music, decorations, cookies, lights, and everything else are my absolute favorite things ever and that it all goes by way too fast! But this year I've decided to embrace the Advent season more than I have in the past in hopes that it will create a more drawn-out and intentional Christmas season.

If we were having coffee, I'd want to know what you do for fun in the winter. Activity-wise. Cuz me as a girl, I'm fine sitting around and sipping coffee, chatting, and doing crafts, but now that I'm attached to a man he gets a little stir crazy.

Pssst... Didn't get a chance to weigh in on what kind of content you'd like to see on the blog more often? Take the 10 second survey here! Thanks! :)

Coffee Date (Round II)

If we were having coffee, I would totally get an iced chai, duh.

If we were having coffee, I would let you know that life feels like one never-ending adventure right now with all the newness that's going on, but that's ok because I really like it and I have lots of familiar people to travel through these not-so familiar seas with.

If we were having coffee, I'd want to know what fun things you like to do in Minneapolis. I'd ask you your favorite places to eat and shop and walk.

If we were having coffee, I would share about how I've been dreaming a lot about the future lately. The design nerd in me has just been having too much fun dreaming about having our very own apartment. And being that there's a wedding drawing ever closer, I'd say the future has been a pretty wonderful place to have my head.

If we were having coffee, I'd let you know that even though I've been future-dreaming I've also been soaking up every minute of the present. With roomie nights, travel, family, and time with my man I have been savoring the season of life God has placed me in.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that trusting God with an unknown future is hard. But I would also tell you that God is more-than-faithful in the ways and timing that He reveals things. To say that my future is much less unknown now than it was a few months ago is a huge understatement.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you about your pyramid that you want to build. I would listen as you shared your passions and then maybe I could share some of mine.

Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I don't actually like coffee so I'm going to get a chai tea latte if that's okay with you?

If we were having coffee, I would let you know that I'm tired, tired, tired but that's because my life is full of wonderful happy things like friends getting married and people wanting to pour into my life and friends wanting to catch up and people who I like to talk to on the phone til all hours of the night.

If we were having coffee, I'd want to know when the last time you just did nothing was. I've recently become convinced that doing nothing is good for your soul and should happen on a regular basis.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I don't know what's next in life, and as scary as that is, it's also really exciting to think of the possibilities.

If we were having coffee, I'd let you know that even though it's hard, that exploring, growing, "going there" with your emotions and feelings, and really digging into the Word is all worth it for your relationship with Jesus to flourish.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I picked up my guitar for the first time in months yesterday. It was all dusty and out-of-tune, but my fingers hurt today and that's always a good sign.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you how your intimacy with Christ is. Because I would want you to ask me the same and because life really is better in community with people who are willing to go there.
